4. Usage of Cookies

In the context of our online service, cookies and tracking mechanisms may be used.

Cookies are small text files that may be stored on your device when visiting our online service.

Tracking is possible using different technologies. In particular, we process information using pixel technology and/or during log file analysis.

4.1 · Categories

We distinguish between cookies that are mandatorily required for the technical functions of the online service and such cookies and tracking mechanisms that are not mandatorily required for the technical function of the online service.

It is generally possible to use the online service without any cookies that serve non-technical purposes.

4.1.1 · Technically required cookies

By technically required cookies we mean cookies without those the technical provision of the online service cannot be ensured. These include e.g. cookies that store data to ensure smooth reproduction of video or audio footage.

Such cookies will be deleted when you leave the website.

4.1.2 · Cookies and tracking mechanisms that are technically not required

We only use cookies and tracking mechanisms if you have given us your prior consent in each case. With the exception of the cookie that saves the current status of your privacy settings (selection cookie). This cookie is set based on legitimate interest.

We distinguish between two sub-categories with regard to these cookies and tracking mechanisms:

4.2 · Comfort cookies

These cookies facilitate operation and thus allow you to browse our online service more comfortably; e.g. your language settings may be included in these cookies.

4.3 · Marketing cookies and tracking mechanisms

General

By using marketing cookies and tracking mechanisms we and our partners are able to show you offerings based on your interests, resulting from an analysis of your user behavior:

  • Statistics:
By using statistical tools, we measure e.g. the number of your page views.
  • Conversion tracking:
Our conversion tracking partners place a cookie on your computer ("conversion cookie") if you accessed our website via an advertisement of the respective partner. Normally these cookies are no longer valid after 30 days. If you visit certain pages of our website and the cookie has not yet expired, we and the relevant conversion partner can recognize that a certain user clicked on the advertisement and thereby was redirected to our website. This can also be done across multiple devices. The information obtained by means of the conversion cookie serves the purpose of compiling conversion statistics and recording the total number of users who clicked on the respective advertisement and were redirected to a website with a conversion tracking tag.

Please note that using the tools might include transfer of your data to recipients outside of the EEA where there is no adequate level of data protection pursuant to the GDPR (e.g. the USA). For more details in this respect please refer to the following description of the individual marketing tools.

4.4 · Management of cookies and tracking mechanisms

You can manage your cookie and tracking mechanism settings in the browser and/or our privacy settings.

Note: The settings you have made refer only to the browser used in each case.

4.5 · Deactivation of all cookies

If you wish to deactivate all cookies, please deactivate cookies in your browser settings. Please note that this may affect the functionality of the website.

4.6 · Management of your settings with regard to cookies and tracking mechanisms not required technically

When visiting our websites, you will be asked in a cookie layer whether you consent to our using of any Comfort cookies, marketing cookies or tracking mechanisms, respectively.

In our privacy settings, you may withdraw the consent with effect for the future or grant your consent at a later point in time.

5. YouTube

Our Online Offers use the YouTube video platform which is operated by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland („YouTube”). YouTube is a platform which allows the playback of audio and video files.

When you access a respective site of our Online Offers that contains an embedded YouTube player, this creates a connection to YouTube so that the video or audio file can be transmitted and played back. In doing so, data is transferred to YouTube as a data controller. We are not responsible for the processing of such data by YouTube.

Additional information on the scope and purpose of collected data, on further processing and usage of data by YouTube, on your rights and the privacy options available to be chosen by you, can be found in YouTube's data protection notice.

6. Use of Google Analytics

6.1 · This website uses Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. ("Google"). Google Analytics uses so-called "cookies," text files that are stored on your computer and allow an analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. If IP anonymization is activated on this website, however, your IP address will be shortened by Google within the member states of the European Union or in other contracting states of the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases will the full IP address be transmitted to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. On behalf of the operator of this website, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, compile reports on website activities, and provide other services related to website usage and internet usage to the website operator.

6.2 · The IP address transmitted by your browser within the framework of Google Analytics will not be combined with other data from Google.

6.3 · You can prevent the storage of cookies by adjusting your browser software accordingly; however, we would like to point out that in this case, you may not be able to use all functions of this website to their full extent. Additionally, you can prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie and related to your use of the website (including your IP address) by Google, as well as the processing of this data by Google, by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.

6.4 · This website uses Google Analytics with the extension "_anonymizeIp()". This ensures that IP addresses are processed in a shortened form, preventing them from being linked to individuals. If data collected about you can be linked to an individual, it will be immediately excluded, and any personal data will be promptly deleted.

6.5 · We use Google Analytics to analyze and regularly improve the use of our website. The statistics we obtain help us improve our offerings and make them more interesting for you as a user. For the exceptional cases in which personal data is transferred to the USA, Google has submitted to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, https://www.dataprivacyframework.gov/. The legal basis for the use of Google Analytics is Article 6 (1) Sentence 1 lit. f GDPR. This guarantees an adequate level of data protection for the data transmitted to Google.

6.6 · Third-party information: Google Dublin, Google Ireland Ltd., Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, Fax: +353 (1) 436 1001. Terms of use:  https://marketingplatform.google.com/about/analytics/terms/en/, Privacy overview: https://policies.google.com/privacy#products, and the privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy.

6.7 · This website also uses Google Analytics for cross-device analysis of visitor flows via a user ID. You can disable cross-device analysis of your usage in your customer account under "My Data," "Personal Data."

7. Use of Google Ads

7.1 · We use the Google Ads service to promote our offerings through advertisements. If you arrive at our website via a Google ad, Google Ads will store a cookie on your device. The legal basis for processing your data is Article 6 (1) Sentence 1 lit. a GDPR, meaning that the integration only occurs after your consent.

7.2 · The advertisements are delivered by Google via so-called "Ad Servers." For this purpose, we and other websites use Ad Server cookies, which allow for the measurement of certain parameters related to the success of ads, such as ad impressions or clicks by users. Through the Google Ads cookies stored on our website, we can obtain information about the success of our advertising campaigns. These cookies are not intended to identify you personally. Typically, analysis data for this cookie includes the unique cookie ID, the number of ad impressions per placement (frequency), the last impression (relevant for post-view conversions), and opt-out information (indicating that a user no longer wishes to be targeted by ads).

7.3 · The cookies set by Google allow Google to recognize your internet browser. If a user visits certain pages of an Ads customer's website and the cookie stored on their computer has not yet expired, Google and the customer can recognize that the user clicked on the ad and was redirected to that page. Each Ads customer is assigned a unique cookie, so cookies cannot be tracked across the websites of other Ads customers. By integrating Google Ads, Google receives the information that you have accessed the corresponding part of our website or clicked on one of our ads. If you are registered with a Google service, Google can associate the visit with your account. Even if you are not registered with Google or are not logged in, it is possible that the provider may obtain and store your IP address.

7.4 · Due to the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection with Google's server. We do not collect personal data in these advertising measures ourselves but only provide Google with the opportunity to collect data. We only receive statistical reports from Google that show how often ads were clicked and at what prices. We do not receive further data from the use of advertising materials, and specifically, we cannot identify users based on this information. For data transmission to the USA, Google has certified itself under the Data Privacy Framework, thus demonstrating an adequate level of data protection.

7.5 · You can withdraw your consent at any time without affecting the legality of the processing up until the withdrawal. You can easily revoke your consent through our consent manager or by using the following options: a) by adjusting the settings of your browser software, particularly by suppressing third-party cookies, which will prevent you from receiving ads from third-party providers; b) by setting your browser to block cookies from the domain "www.googleadservices.com" at www.google.de/settings/ads, noting that this setting will be deleted if you delete your cookies; c) by disabling interest-based ads from providers who are part of the self-regulatory campaign "About Ads" via the link www.aboutads.info/choices, with this setting also being deleted if you delete your cookies; d) by permanently disabling it in your browsers (Firefox, Internet Explorer, or Google Chrome) under the link www.google.com/settings/ads/plugin. Please note that in this case, you may not be able to use all features of this service fully.

7.6 · For more information on data protection at Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland, please refer to: www.google.com/intl/en/policies/privacy and services.google.com/sitestats/en.html.

7.7 · Google Conversion Tracking

7.7.1 · We use Google Ads with the additional feature "Google Conversion Tracking." This is a method that allows us to evaluate the success of our advertising campaigns. For this purpose, the ads are equipped with a technical measure, such as an ID, that enables us to determine how a user interacts after clicking on the ad and whether one of our services is actually used. This provides us with statistical information about the total number of viewers of our ads, which ads are particularly popular, and possibly other details about the outcomes of the ad.

7.7.2 · The legal basis for processing your data is also Article 6 (1) Sentence 1 lit. a GDPR, meaning the integration occurs only after your consent. You can prevent or stop using the conversion tracking feature in the same way as described earlier for Google Ads. >

7.8 · Google Remarketing

7.8.1 · We use Google Ads with the additional feature "Google Remarketing." This method allows us to create advertisements based on the existing information about you and re-address you during your further internet usage. This is done by means of cookies set when you visit our website (usually through cookies), which are used by Google to record and pseudonymize your usage behavior when you visit various websites. According to Google's own statements, the data collected through remarketing is not combined with any personal data stored by Google.

7.8.2 · The legal basis for processing your data is also Article 6 (1) Sentence 1 lit. a GDPR, meaning the integration occurs only after your consent. You can prevent or stop using the remarketing feature in the same way as described earlier for Google Ads.

8. Use of HubSpot Analytics

8.1 · We use HubSpot Analytics on our website in accordance with Article 6 (1) a) GDPR to analyze user behavior on our website (page views, number of visitors and visits, form submissions).

8.2 · For data transfer to the USA, HubSpot is certified under the Data Privacy Framework, thus demonstrating an adequate level of data protection.

We use the LinkedIn Insight Tag on our website to better understand the effectiveness of our campaigns and to deliver tailored content to users. The LinkedIn Insight Tag enables us to collect data such as URL, referrer, IP address, device and browser characteristics, and timestamps. This data is processed by LinkedIn and provided to us in an aggregated and anonymised form.

The processing of data is based on our legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour to optimise our marketing activities (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). However, your consent is required to enable tracking. By accepting the use of cookies and similar technologies on our website, you agree to the activation of the LinkedIn Insight Tag.

LinkedIn also uses this information for its own purposes, such as providing personalised ads. For more information on how LinkedIn processes your data, please see LinkedIn's Privacy Policy at https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy.

You can opt out of LinkedIn’s use of cookies and targeted advertising at any time by managing your settings in your LinkedIn account or by visiting https://www.linkedin.com/psettings/guest-controls/retargeting-opt-out.

If you do not consent to the use of the LinkedIn Insight Tag, you can disable it in our cookie settings at any time. Your choice will not affect your access to other features on our website.

11. Communication tools on social media platforms

We use on our social media platform (e.g. LinkedIn) communication tools to process your messages sent via this social media platform and to offer you support.

When sending a message via our social media platform the message is processed to handle your query (and if necessary additional data, which we receive from the social media provider in connection with this message as your name or files).

In addition we can analyze these data in an aggregated and anonymized form in order to better understand how our social media platform is used.

We will forward the personal data you provide to the Bosch legal entity responsible for the processing of your query (for example, in the event your query refers to a product that is distributed by another Bosch legal entity). The legal basis for the processing of your data is our legitimate interest (Art. 6 para. 1 s. 1 lit. f GDPR) or, if applicable, an existing contractual relationship (Art. 6 para. 1 s. 1 lit. b GDPR). The processed personal data is deleted 180 days upon receipt of your message the latest.
